Built in 1919 and completed in 1920, the Heard Building rose over a rapidly changing Downtown Phoenix as Arizona’s first skyscraper—and the largest and tallest office building in the state.

Built by influential Phoenix businessman and publisher Dwight B. Heard, its walls became home to The Arizona Republic and Phoenix Gazette, while KTAR broadcast from studios inside the building and towers high above its roof. For more than a century, generations of Phoenix businesses have worked here.

Today, that story is still being written. The Heard Building is once again a home base for local businesses, entrepreneurs, creatives and growing teams—bringing more than 100 years of Phoenix history together with flexible workspace and a community built for what’s next.
